Spending Time With Yourself Is Important

A lot of people don’t like spending time alone. Some people are even afraid of it. We make friends with people that aren’t a great friend, date people that aren’t a good match and spend time and money running away from being on our own.

Honestly, loneliness isn’t something to aim for, but being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. The relationship with yourself gives you comfort, that matters most.

Spending time alone introduces you to a simple life.  No rat race, just a simple experience, not complicated

Allows you to keep your mind clear.  We receive lots of information but need time to organize it in our mind.

Helps maintain a more accurate perception.  When we are constantly interacting with others and processing new information, it makes it hard to get a really good grasp on reality.

You will learn things about yourself that you couldn’t otherwise.  We often look at our thoughts from the outside looking in.  Spending more time alone to develop the ability to differentiate yourself from all thoughts flying about in your head.

Relieves Anxiety.  We can’t differentiate between ourselves and our thoughts, anxiety builds quickly.  It helps to set your mind straight and rid self of negative thoughts.

Forces you to become less dependent on others.  Most depend on others for our happiness.

Your life becomes more efficient.  We hang out or chill but still do something.

You slow down.  Life isn’t a race. Being alive should be enough to make you happy.  If it doesn’t, you need to slow down and remove yourself from distractions.

You remove yourself from unnecessary information.  A majority of information is useless to us.  Unplugging from this constant stream of information is incredibly relieving.

You’ll come to accept that you’re enough to make yourself happy.  The only way to achieve sustainable happiness is to be happy with the bare minimum.  Why?  Maintaining anything requires constants and the only thing you can never lose and never have to worry about losing is you.

You’ll save money.  Being alone is a lot cheaper than spending time with other.

Get introduced to your weaknesses.   People seem to be afraid of being alone and getting to know themselves because they are afraid of what they’ll find.  We all have weaknesses.  You can choose to ignore them or you can understand them and learn how to position yourself in a way where you either work on them or avoid having to expose them.

Makes you accept that you’re alone in this life – and make you okay with it.  We are born alone and die alone.  Spend more time with yourself and only yourself, and soon you will realize that as truth.

Make The Most Most of Life

What About Now? by Gina Lake

We are all so powerful.  We have the power to make the most out of life, out of the moment, or to make life unpleasant.  The moment is what it is, and what we bring to the moment makes it either enjoyable or stressful and unpleasant.  We are meant to discover that we are powerful creators, if not of our entire reality, at least of our experience of reality.  We aren’t responsible for what each moment holds, but we are responsible for our experience of each moment because we have the power to make any moment heaven or hell.  We don’t create our entire reality since other forces are at work, but how we interact with and think about reality (what’s showing up in the moment) affects it to some extent and, surely, affects our experience of it.

Relax and Enjoy the Ride

The beauty is that we are all evolving toward being more loving and aligned with the spiritual being that we are, whether we realize that or not.  So we can just relax and enjoy the ride that Life is taking us on.  All that Life asks is that we choose love over fear and hatred.  Fortunately, we all learn that being loving is the only sane choice since the opposite only leads to suffering.  We can’t really make a mistake, so nothing needs fixing because we are all being swept along toward seeing the truth about ourselves and life – that we are all One and life is good!!!!
