Summertime Changes Are Oh So Welcoming!
I revisited those summertime feeling free of being out of school for the summer. By doing some mini stay vacations where you live if you can’t get away, gives instant freedom.
Last month was the first time my husband and myself went out to Sylvan Lake 3-4 times per week. By doing this we slowed down, much more than we normally do, put a lot of thing on pause and made room to swim and hang out in the water, shared more meals with family who live out there, played games and spent time around the fire. Sometimes did it all, while we were out there and other times just a dip to cool down and a visit.
I love the grounding each time as I walked in the water with beautiful sand under my feet and between my toes and felt the small ripple formation under my feet as thousands of minnows race to move aside as I move forward. I didn’t realize the balance and coordination needed now as I am doing much needed rehab with my knee. The standing in the water with eyes closed, taking in the sound of water and breathing in fresh air. It’s like each time I experience peace, quietness and serenity within myself and can’t wait to return and do it all over again. Totally fabulous!!!
The sounds of children laughing, sand castles on the shore line, hearing happy conversations, the smell of yummy food etc is something I can’t get enough of these days.
The feeling of going home I witness more as we travel back and forth to Sylvan Lake this summer, even though I love Red Deer.
It seems by being present at the lake in the water, being grounded, and present has slowed down the blur of the days, weeks of summer speeding by like a motor boat.
Hopefully you can experience summer a little more, slow down the fast moving summer days with either a picnic at city park area with beautiful flowers, river or head out to surrounding lakes more to witness and connect to nature would love for you to experience more of summer!!!
