To Know Yourself Is The Meaning Of Life

Asking oneself what are the dangers that come with a lack of self-knowledge?  And what in fact do we need to know about ourselves?  Simple but very deep regarding who you truly are regarding self-knowledge!

This knowledge is generally of an emotional or psychological kind.  Eg How does your relationship with your father/mother influence your career ambitions or are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?

The psychological core of one’s self are things like:

What kind of person are you characteristically attracted to in love?

What are your talents at work?

What problems do you have around success/failure?

    How are you about feedback?

What do you do when you have been frustrated by life?

Can you distinguish between your passing emotions you are feeling in the body and your rational and irrational thoughts?

Self-knowledge is important because it offers us a route to greater happiness and fulfillment.

A lack of self-knowledge leaves you open to mishaps and wrong ambitions.

Self-knowledge gives you a greater chance to avoid errors in relationships and life choices.

Self-knowledge has always been important.  But now it’s more so than ever.  This is a result of political and social progress.  When life was much more constrained by tradition, manners, there was less need for self-knowledge to guide action.  Now, if we are to make use of the independence and freedom we’ve been offered, there is all the more reason to get to know ourselves.

We pay a high price for a lack of self-knowledge.   Why is it so hard to know oneself.

    1. The unconscious – Our minds are divided into conscious and unconscious processes. Digesting lunch is unconscious; reflecting on what you’d like to do this weekend is conscious.  We let too much of who we happen in the unconscious.  We need to bring more into the conscious realm.
    2. Emotional and rational mind. It’s like the wild horse (reptilian part) of our mind dragging the conscious mind along.
    3. The resistance of not allowing the consciousness part of our mind to know how the unconsciousness mind is really working
    4. There are many aspects of our identities that are hard to see without help from another person. However getting hold of data from others is a sometimes unreliable process.  Either they can’t be bothered or don’t want to upset you.
    5. Many bits of self-knowledge only come through experiences. We acquire knowledge dynamically, by trying things out and colliding with others  – which always carries a risk, and takes time.  Eg careers    Self-knowledge can evolve as a result of dialogue with the world.
    6. We are unfortunately vague about stuff.   I want to be happy but do not know what it looks like.  It is a universal problem.
    7. Introspection is low or unfamiliar. Sitting still and receiving lessons, insight, and wisdom to using in moving forward after an abrupt or troubling experience.  Self-knowledge is gifted to you at that time

How can one improve and speed up self-knowledge?

One of the key ways in which we can get to know ourselves and others is through conversation.  Unfortunately, we tend to have a conception of what a conversation looks like, eg. Location, the right setting, food, drinks, etc so the conversation will flow naturally, without special effort.

The reality is that a  conversation is an achievement or something we might need to learn.

Just by finishing these sentence stems about our feelings towards ourselves or others.

    I resent…….

    I am puzzled by ….

    I am hurt by ….

    I regret ….

    I am afraid that …..

    I am happier when ….

    I want ….

    I appreciate …

    I hope …..

Self-knowledge is a set of capacities for dealing better with one’s needs and weaknesses and generally being better at handling oneself.  The benefits are :

    • Less prone to blame others
    • Be less frustrated
    • Panic less……panic is caused by fear…. Fear is humiliation or rejection
    • Less prone to envy
    • Don’t sweat quite so much about money
    • Good at apologizing
    • Good conversationalist.

This is a great time to focus on self-knowledge.   I have been on working on myself for years and in awe when my clients get personal with who they are for the first time sometimes of who they truly are and they are aligning themselves differently and see themselves differently.

Being At Home In Muddy Waters

In our present days of uncertainty with the pandemic, it has reminded me of some important tools to bring forward.  This morning a thought came to me, reminding me of a book I read back in 2006 titled, “At Home in Muddy Waters” by Ezra Bayda.  I found this book, after being burnt out and quitting my job.  I was sitting at a crossroads back then. I didn’t know what my life looked like, I isolated myself and took inventory of what was left deep within me.  The flip side to that though was it brought me into alignment and completed a full cycle of thriving, struggling, surviving and back to thriving.  When all was said and done, I said something like “why didn’t I do it sooner”.  I saw how one event of choosing something, brought me forward and now doing my purpose and passion today.

The “muddy waters” are negative events and situations throughout one’s entire life that have not been fully resolved.  Present situations and or people with similar emotions get triggered by these past unresolved emotional events.  Emotions can bubble up on a day to day basis and take us over like a tsunami in your mind colliding with unprocessed or suppressed negative emotions.

I like the phrase “At Home in Muddy Waters” instead of “isolation” or “social distancing”.  At home has many meanings within your body, mind and spirit.  A home may be a secure, non-physical place as the muddy waters are being stirred up in the world.  For others, the physical home may be a trigger for a person’s own muddy water. Let us look at these three meanings.

First, at home in your body is feeling comfortable in your body. It is what you see in the mirror. Some social media messaging has told you to be at war with your body and promises the carrot that is dangling in front of you.  Their advertising tells us that if you buy XYZ, you will feel (insert carrot) happy, peace, calm, content, etc.  When products fail, it may feel the carrot is somehow out of reach resulting in the internal messaging that something is wrong with you.  It is the emotions that are unresolved and that is not addressed that muddies the waters.

Next, there is another meaning at home in muddy waters, in our mind.  We’ve distanced ourselves, muddied our waters with distractions like smoking, drinking, shopping, TV, social media, gambling and the list goes on.   Our idea of friends is 5oo friends on FaceBook and truthfully only know a handful of them.   By sitting still in our minds with muddy waters, we can hear all the lies that are fabricated in our thoughts/beliefs about ourselves including what other people have told us about who we are.  The only person that truly knows us is that part of us that shuts down more and more and trusts other people more than ourselves. Our thoughts are huge sources of cloudiness.

Lastly, at home in muddy waters in our spiritual home whether you choose your spiritual focus to be with the universe, unseen forces, God, Buddha, or whoever you connect with on higher, unseen energies and entities, there are options.  As the saying goes, “Many roads lead to Rome”, any road you choose leads you back home to who you truly are as spirit.

When we are at home in these three ways, body, mind and spirit, it is like forming a pyramid of who you truly are and who you have always been.  Like the great pyramids, that have stood the test of time.   It is a miracle, mysterious and mind-boggling that our body/mind/spirit has stood many tests of time.

When we are working 100% on all three levels, we are powerful, connected, plugged into our truth- our true North.  Not 100% truth resulting from media, science, religion or anything else.  We are plugged into our all-knowing.  That is when your truth awakens you and you come out a coma on some level.  We have our power given back and are able to sort, sift and filter through other people’s/organization’s truths and be very selective of what we choose to digest and affect our own body/mind and spirit.

By being at home in muddy waters, each of us (if we get comfortable with time spent here), can witness the transformation as we experience this distancing process now.  It’s like a caterpillar that has been forced by evolution (or world shutdown) to go into a cocoon setting, spend time melting down.  This melting down is a process of gathering strength within and let the muddy waters settle just like in Italy.  In Italy, with this shut down happening, many of the dolphins, fish, marine life are swimming once again in the canals, but before this it was murky.  During this time, many people sit out on their balconies and play beautiful music to neighbors and communities.  Also, in and around Los Angeles, people are reporting that they are seeing blue sky and all the skyscrapers, etc.  These are things that many haven’t seen for a long time due to smog.  It’s like going to the top of a mountain or Grande Canyon and seeing forever, the beauty of our home – Earth.   Being at home in muddy waters has many benefits on some level if you see it as a blessing in disguise and world correction.  In a short time, there has been a great visual of what is possible.  We all have free will and willpower to do a little each day.  The journey begins with a single step.

we are still, go within and allow the things that have clouded, muddy our body/mind/spirit we can meet ourselves like going to a reunion after 10, 20, 30 plus years.  Hopefully you won’t want to not lose contact with yourself again and want to make a daily, weekly, practice of connecting as you do with your loved ones.

Ways you can do it is by being still while sipping a cup of tea or coffee and connecting to nature outside like bouquets of flowers within your home or a candle as it dances in the darkness at night.  Other ways are meditation, walking in nature and listen to birds or children or feel the soles of your feet connect to the ground and know you are supported.

I have noticed in the last two weeks as I go for walks how my experience has changed immensely as I approach each person on the path.  I see families out walking, and when  I pass them, our eyes (souls) connect, smile and greet each other.  It’s like confirmation of fully seeing each other once again, like going to that reunion.

My wish is for your own discovery of muddy waters in your body/mind/spirit.  I want you to see clarity in life and connect to the world differently.  I know how powerful we are when we can see farther standing on that mountain top rather than in the valley of darkness.

Until Zen…… may you get to know the true you, your spirit that is guiding your mind and body back home to health, happiness and freedom.  See my special for this month to help you be at home in your muddy waters.

    Is Polarity Therapy like Reiki?

A great question that I get asked a lot is Reiki and Polarity Therapy the same.  I’ve heard the chocolate analogy:  I can tell you all about the ingredients, how it’s made and how it will taste but until you actually taste it for yourself, you will never understand how chocolate really taste.  Right!  Same is true for both these modalities.

I have clients that ask me if I do Reiki as well as Polarity Therapy.   I received my masters in Reiki but moved away from it when I started using the Yuen Method/Personal Transformation and my new modality that is amazing and feel more powerful if you like Reiki sessions.  I will attempt to cover the similarities and the differences as well as dive more into a new modality that is over 8 decades old and uses the concepts of energy flow used in Ayurvedic Medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.  It differs from them also because looks at the theory of positive and negative energy charges in the body’s electromagnetic energy field govern the flow of energy.

Similarities between Reiki and Polarity Therapy

Both Reiki and Polarity are in the realm of an energy based healing modality and both are done with the client fully clothed.  This make both modality a perfect energy level therapies for people who are new to receiving healing work or have restrictions or body images that may make massage or other forms of body work less appealing.

    Reiki

The meaning “Universal life force energy” in Japanese – is one type of energy healing that many people have heard of before, even if they haven’t yet tried it themselves.  Using the laying on of hands, as well as holding hands about 4 inches away from the client’s body in particular areas, to allow the client’s body to heal itself.  This method attunes the chakras.

The ancient practice of Reiki moves through eight different chakras, or energy centers, in order to clear them so that energy can flow better to all areas of the body.  Reiki is not a massage, but some evidence that it can improve overall mood in those with anxiety and depression.

    POLARITY THERAPY

Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Stone who was a chiropractor, osteopathic, and naturopathic doctor incredible knowledge in eastern and western healing principles involved to bring the body back into natural balance, or homeostasis.

Polarity Therapy is based on the concept that everything is made of energy, and the body has positive, negative and neutral pulls based on that energy.  Polarity Therapy sessions seek out where you are already whole, rather than where you are broken, and then try to draw the rest of your systems into alignment with that wholeness until your entire self is functioning at its highest level.  Polarity Therapy uses light touch and often a degree of rocking techniques.   Anything blocking the flow of life energy, Polarity Therapy provides space for the body to bring itself into balance again.

Polarity Therapy addresses the root cause of disease by addressing the subtle energetic systems of the body and making adjustment through light touch.

Polarity Therapy is based on the idea that there are three types of energy field in the body:

    • Long-line currents that run north to south in the body
    • Transverse currents that run east-west in the body
    • Spiral currents that start at the navel and expand outward.

    Uses for Polarity Therapy

This alternative modality is said to help with the following health problems:

    • Allergies
    • Anxiety
    • Arthritis
    • Back pain
    • Chronic fatigue syndrome
    • Depression
    • Headaches
    • Irritable bowel syndrome
    • Migraines
    • Additionally promoting increase energy, alleviate pain, relieve stress and reduce swelling.
    • Some also suggest that Polarity Therapy can stimulate the immune system, fend  off diseases

Some studies have been done that indicates individuals that have received Polarity Therapy sessions report that greater improvements in fatigue and quality of life while going through and offset some of the adverse effects associated with certain cancer treatments.   Please consult your health care providers before looking at alternative modality like Polarity Therapy.

Also a study also found Polarity Therapy may help to reduce stress in caregivers of people with dementia.   After receiving a number of Polarity Therapy sessions, the participants notice a significant greater reduction in stress levels and showed a great improvements in depression, pain, and experience more vitality and general health.

March’s special this month  is Polarity Therapy.  It is a 60 min session for $70.   This service balances major chakras of the body, body cavities related to the chakras, redistributes energy from the solar plexus to all part of the body, and harmonize and  balance parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.

    STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART

But truth be told, all the answers you seek actually lie within yourself. Yes, YOU and you alone have the power to unlock all of the answers you could … Keep your heart open and live with love, passion and a firm belief thats all …

Do you question yourself like,” should I listen to my heart or my brain”?

In the same way, when faced with a decision or conflict, your mind may come up with numerous, different and quite logical reasons why you should act as it advises, but if you listen to and trust your heart—however illogic.

We get trapped in our mind with various, reasons, memories, experiences why you should or shouldn’t.  Time runs out, we get confused, pressured, and miss  your heart’s desire for you.   When this happens, you might have experienced after the decision, say something like, “I knew I shouldn’t have done that, “It’s didn’t FEEL right/good.”   That not feeling right or good are emotions are being communicated through the heart and gut.

    Can we trust our heart?

Deep within you lies the very essence of love, strength and joy. To trust your inner self is to trust your heart. It does not mean that you will not make mistakes or make a wrong turn; this is all part of your heart’s journey. If you trust and embrace the journey, your heart will get you back on the right path.  If you can’t trust your heart who can you trust?  Your heart has been with you since the being of time.

Does your heart allow right to follow?

The more you follow your heart, the better you get at it. You won’t always be right, but you will always be.

What does it mean to go within?

“To go within simply means to be with yourself, to listen to yourself and your higher self, and to feel yourself by calming the mind and clearing the clutter; allowing more space for your higher thoughts to enter your being.” – Michelle Walling.

How can I find the answers within?

    1. Take some time out to connect with yourself.

Turn off your phone, computer and TV, and allow yourself time to just be. This could be going for a long walk in solitude, sitting outside, taking a long relaxing bath, resting silently in your favorite chair. The important part is to take time to disconnect from all the busy-ness, stress and distraction of your everyday life.

    2. Take some deep breaths and quiet your mind.

Allow your thoughts to float on by like clouds. If there are any thoughts that come up that seem important, write them down and then continue to let them float away. You can address them later. Just a few minutes to calm and quiet can shift your entire day. Don’t stress about whether you are doing it right or not, or get frustrated about it not working. The point is to take the time out for yourself.

    3. Connect with your deeper self.

Once your mind is somewhat quiet, connect with your deeper self.  Envision a space at the very center of you, at your core. This space is like the eye of a storm. Everything may be whirling around you in chaos, but at that center, you calm, quiet and peaceful. Simply sitting and connecting with this center is very powerful. Taking 5 or 10 minutes each day to sit in this peaceful place, your deeper self, will help you to feel more centered, connected, and at peace with yourself.  By placing one or both hands on your heart, feel your heart beating and let your heart know you are listening.

    4. Ask questions and allow the answers to come into your awareness.

Once you are connected to this deepest part of you, ask questions and allow the answers to come into your awareness. Allowing the answers to come without searching or digging, without expectation or agenda. Ask the question, and then sit back and wait for any insight, vision, word, message, feeling or knowing to come to you. The answers can come in unlimited ways. Be open to however they may come to you in that moment, and even later as you go about your day. The answers are not always immediate. Be patient.

    5.  Trust and practice.

It all comes down to trust and practice. Trust in yourself. Trust that your answers are there and will come to you. Trust in the messages and the answers that you receive. The way to build trust is to practice. Take some time every day to quiet and connect with your deeper self and tap into the wisdom it holds. The more you do this, the easier it will be and the more you can trust the answers you receive.

Word of the Year Ideas for 2020

You might be feeling the need for a change, or wanting to improve on something in 2020?

Instead of writing a new year’s resolution,  another great way to go into a brand, spanking new year is to have a focus word instead.  A single word that encompasses what you need more of, what you want to focus on, or what you need to improve on.  A word for the year!

The benefits of having a ‘word of the year’

It might be a theme or overarching focus for your year ahead – either way, it’s an exciting way to set your intention for the year ahead.

It provides an anchor and encourages you to consciously (and subconsciously) consider this focus word when making decisions – what you want more of and what you want less of in your life.

How to decide on your word for the year

Sometimes we know exactly what we need in our lives, and sometimes we need to stew on it a bit.

Here are some simple questions to get you thinking

Considering how this past year has been, what is something that you could improve on, do differently or keep working on?

    • Think of something that isn’t going so well in your life right now. What’s a word that is the opposite or more positive alternative to this? For example, if fear keeps holding you back, then the alternative could be fearless or brave?

    • What do you want MORE of in your life?

    • What do you want LESS of? Be sure to turn it into a positive word though!

    • What would be a game-changer for you?

A year is a long time, but also goes by very quickly.

There are no rules. If you choose a word and then part way through the year, you want to change it, add another or modify it – then do it!

It’s your own personal ‘game’! You might even find that you want to choose a new word each month to focus on?

    Take a Quizz

How To Make Your ‘Word of The Year’ Really Stick!

It’s of no value to choose a word and then do nothing with it and then wonder why nothing changed. You really do need to focus on your focus word (pun intended).

The key is to have you:

    • seeing it,

    • reviewing it,

    • thinking about it,

    • feeling it,

    • experiencing it and

    • owning it –  as much as possible.

So that it sticks and becomes a guiding theme in your life.

In order to keep that theme of yours front and center in your life, here are a few great ideas to help make it ‘stick’:

    Define Your Focus Word

Writing out your chosen word, plus a clear definition and what it means to you is a great way to create emotion with the word.

You might want to start with the dictionary definition, but also flesh it out further with what the word means to you personally and why it’s important to you.

You might choose to include this in your planner/bullet journal, on a vision board or simply on your computer screen.

If you are doing a gratitude journal, your could journal on times throughout the day that your focus word was shown to you.  Eg.  Your word could be happiness and early on in the day, you made a funny face and made a child do a belly laugh.

    Compile a Reading List

Reading books, blogs and online forums about your chosen word of the year is a great way to expand your thinking and knowledge on the subject.

For example, if your focus for the year is ‘Self-Love’, you may compile a reading list.

    Related Quotes

A quick google search on ‘your word + quotes’ will provide you with plenty of inspiration on some quotes to include.

Quotes can offer an alternative way of thinking about things and can motivate you towards your focus word.

    List of Affirmations

Affirmations are positive written statements, designed to be repeated often and with conviction.

To be effective, self-affirmations should be written in present tense, they should be personal and very specific.

You can say them aloud or write them in a journal – whatever way works best for you, but the trick is that they do need to be said often.

To get your focus word to stick, you could try building your own carefully worded affirmations based on your word.

For example, if your focus word is ‘Abundance’, you could use the following affirmations:

    “I live an abundant life”

    “I am surrounded by wealth”

Play around with some positive affirmations and find some that inspire you.

    Songs That Inspire

Create a playlist of inspiring songs with and/or about your focus word could really help to keep the inspiration going. So maybe your word of the year isn’t ‘jump’, but I’m sure you could find a list of songs that fit your theme well.

Pick music that has a very fitting theme to it – eg they all included the word ‘jump’ , such as:

    • The Pointer Sisters – Jump (For My Love)

    • Madonna – Jump

    • Kris Kross – Jump

Wear Your Word – With Custom Jewellery

So, having your word of the year tattooed on your body may be a little too extreme – but you could always wear a personalised piece of jewellery or wristband?

While necklaces are great, you won’t actually see it very often. A wristband or bracelet (like the one below) is a private, yet effective way to keep your focus word in view:

    Make Your Screensavers Inspiring

Because these are great places to set up a screensaver that can showcase your word of the year. It doesn’t have to be the word – you could simple include images that relate to your word.

For example, here is a simple collection of images about ‘adventure’ that will provide frequent visual motivation throughout your day.

    Other High-Traffic Areas

Depending on your lifestyle, there will be places of your home, car or work-space that you see often and therefore they make great places to add your word of the year or theme to.

Just some of the various places that you will see at least a few times each day:

    • The front of the fridge

    • The bathroom mirror (try a marker)

    • Your coffee mug

    • Your bedside table

    • Your mouse pad

    • Post it notes on your computer

    • The dashboard of your car

    Some people rate Christmas as

    being more stressful than divorce.

Christmas can be a very stressful time of year.  For many the Christmas holiday period is a mass of complex social interactions with family or relatives, some of whom you may rather not see.

There could well be expectations, or at least perceived expectations, to create a ‘wonderful Christmas’ with presents and perhaps the most important meal of the year.

Stress, depression and the holidays: Tips for coping

Stress and depression can ruin your holidays and hurt your health. Being realistic, planning ahead and seeking support can help ward off stress and depression.

    By Mayo Clinic Staff

The holiday season often brings unwelcome guests — stress and depression. And it’s no wonder. The holidays present a dizzying array of demands — parties, shopping, baking, cleaning and entertaining, to name just a few.

But with some practical tips, you can minimize the stress that accompanies the holidays. You may even end up enjoying the holidays more than you thought you would.

Tips to prevent holiday stress and depression

When stress is at its peak, it’s hard to stop and regroup. Try to prevent stress and depression in the first place, especially if the holidays have taken an emotional toll on you in the past.

    1. Acknowledge your feelings. If someone close to you has recently died or you can’t be with loved ones, realize that it’s normal to feel sadness and grief. It’s OK to take time to cry or express your feelings. You can’t force yourself to be happy just because it’s the holiday season.
    2. Reach out.If you feel lonely or isolated, seek out community, religious or other social events. They can offer support and companionship. Volunteering your time to help others also is a good way to lift your spirits and broaden your friendships.
    3. Be realistic. The holidays don’t have to be perfect or just like last year. As families change and grow, traditions and rituals often change as well. Choose a few to hold on to, and be open to creating new ones. For example, if your adult children can’t come to your house, find new ways to celebrate together, such as sharing pictures, emails or videos.
    4. Set aside differences.Try to accept family members and friends as they are, even if they don’t live up to all of your expectations. Set aside grievances until a more appropriate time for discussion. And be understanding if others get upset or distressed when something goes awry. Chances are they’re feeling the effects of holiday stress and depression, too.
    5. Stick to a budget. Before you go gift and food shopping, decide how much money you can afford to spend. Then stick to your budget. Don’t try to buy happiness with an avalanche of gifts.

    Try these alternatives:

    • Donate to a charity in someone’s name.
    • Give homemade gifts.
    • Start a family gift exchange.
    1. Plan ahead.Set aside specific days for shopping, baking, visiting friends and other activities. Plan your menus and then make your shopping list. That’ll help prevent last-minute scrambling to buy forgotten ingredients. And make sure to line up help for party prep and cleanup.
    2. Learn to say no.Saying yes when you should say no can leave you feeling resentful and overwhelmed. Friends and colleagues will understand if you can’t participate in every project or activity. If it’s not possible to say no when your boss asks you to work overtime, try to remove something else from your agenda to make up for the lost time.
    3. Don’t abandon healthy habits.Don’t let the holidays become a free-for-all. Overindulgence only adds to your stress and guilt.

    Try these suggestions:

    • Have a healthy snack before holiday parties so that you don’t go overboard on sweets, cheese or drinks.
    • Get plenty of sleep.
    • Incorporate regular physical activity into each day.
    1. Take a breather.Make some time for yourself. Spending just 15 minutes alone, without distractions, may refresh you enough to handle everything you need to do. Find something that reduces stress by clearing your mind, slowing your breathing and restoring inner calm.

    Some options may include:

    • Taking a walk at night and stargazing.
    • Listening to soothing music.
    • Getting a massage.
    • Reading a book.

    Take control of the holidays

Don’t let the holidays become something you dread. Instead, take steps to prevent the stress and depression that can descend during the holidays. Learn to recognize your holiday triggers, such as financial pressures or personal demands, so you can combat them before they lead to a meltdown. With a little planning and some positive thinking, you can find peace and joy during the holidays.

    POLARITY THERAPY

    New Month New Service

    www.verywellhealth.com

Polarity therapy is an alternative therapy that involves balancing the flow of energy in the body to improve or maintain health.  Polarity therapy is also known as polarity balancing and polarity energy balancing.

According to practitioners of polarity therapy, illness is caused by disruptions in the body’s energy flow and the resulting stress and trauma. Polarity therapy is based on the idea that there are three types of energy fields in the body:

    • Long-line currents that run north to south in the body

    • Transverse currents that run east-west in the body

    • Spiral currents that start at the navel and expand outward

Polarity therapy is said to help with the following health problems:

    • Allergies

    • Anxiety / Stress / Sleep issues

    • Arthritis / pain

    • Back  / joints / neck / shoulders

    • Chronic fatigue syndrome

    • Depression

    • Headaches

    • Irritable bowel syndrome

    • Migraines / TMJ / Sinuses

    • Many More

Additionally, proponents of polarity therapy claim that it can also improve range of motion, increase energy, alleviate pain, relieve stress and reduce swelling. Some also suggest that polarity therapy can stimulate the immune system and fend off diseases, including cancer.

Polarity therapy may help reduce stress, according to a 2009 study published in The Gerontologist. The study involved 42 caregivers of people with dementia. One group received eight sessions of polarity therapy, while a second group had a short-term relief of their care giving duties. After assessing each participant, the study’s authors determined that those given polarity therapies experienced a significantly greater reduction in stress levels. In addition, members of the polarity therapy group showed greater improvements in depression, pain, vitality, and general health.

It’s important for people with cancer and certain chronic conditions (including heart disease and arthritis to consult their physician prior to undergoing polarity therapy.

    Powerful Feelings

Your past positive feelings are so important to access in opening the channels to receive more of what you truly desire.

When you are on the right path, you don’t question, analyze or take a long time to decide.  You know it is true for you and only you by how you feel about it.  In your heart of hearts it speaks to you so deeply, so precise, so passionately of what your body/mind/spirit longs for you to receive and experience.  At this point the formless idea and feelings are attempting to birth the experience or object.  The formless that brings abundance of health, happiness, relationships, finances.  If this energy aligns it flows and match between formless idea and you, your body mind start to manifest.

I’m sure you have great experiences when it  felt good, connected to how it would feel to receive it and it effortlessly showed up.  Feelings play such a big part in what you attract, good or bad.  Studies show, that sitting, visualizing and feeling exercise of manifesting, you only need to focus on it for17 seconds at one time in order to start creating possibilities.

We just don’t know or comprehend the power we truly have within us.

    Let the manifesting begin!!!!!

A Way to Shift into Fall

    Aaron Burden (Photo)

I find as the years go by, it is harder and harder to let go of summer and fall.

Bitter sweet is what all my senses are experiencing right now as fall is fast approaching.   All the transformation of fresh crisp air forcing leaves to change colors combined with alluring scents what autumn brings.  As the soil is preparing for winter, we celebrate the abundance the gardens have gifted all of us.

Thoughts stir within inside me as the fall, especially this year is already knocking on my internal door, reminding me to prepare for colder temperatures and reminding me of  past experiences of spending more time  inside.  I always find that when September rolls around there is something within me that gets my internal clock ticking again around urgency.   Thoughts like settling into the year once again, like when I was a child, even the anxiousness / excitement and longing to learn something different.  So many messages as I watch my own thoughts passing by like ticker tape of stock market reporting at the bottom of a TV screen.

    Neal Kharawala (photo)

During my Yuen Method/ Personal Transformation session I offer to clients, I love going with them as I guide them on the journey of connecting to a big beautiful tree that transforms in front of them.   All the color, shape and size of leaves throughout the different seasons and finally connect to that tree as it stands bear and has released all of it’s leaves.  Amazing how the tree’s wisdom, knows it will receive new ones and even more next year.  Every time,  that moment know that I can let go, of people, relationships, events and now update my consciousness to include fall.   Knowing that by letting go, and trusting it will return like the sunrise and sunsets, they return like clock work of our universe.

By refocusing on what fall offers that I can fully receive and let go of fall gracefully, I can fully embrace all of what each

season can offer now.  I love sitting in stillness and getting guidance on changing my perspective and getting different results.  As nature Fallingprepares for fall, I to can physically, mentally and emotional prepare as well.

Yes, You Might Already Be Meditating

Initially some people think of meditating as sitting in a pretzel position, finding a quiet space to  quiet their minds and taking 1 hour out of their busy lives.  That really doesn’t appeal to a large majority of us humans when time management, stress, pressure and over commiting is front row center.

How about if I tell you that you might already be meditating.   You are just meditating in a much more easier, relaxed manner that it very doable.  Doing something so benifical that is enjoyable and something that you look forward to maybe 1 to 3 times or more per day for 5-10 min is powerful.  How does it feel to say that you do meditate each day.   How does that feel, to look for 5 min here or 10 min there to anticipate TIME FOR SELF.

    Do you spend  5 – 10 minutes……

    • closing your eyes and having the radiance of  sunshine touch your face and different parts of your body and lot think about anything
    • sipping a cup of tea and coffee on your deck, backyard or quiet time before everyone gets up, mid day or end of day
    • Sitting around a fire pit and saying nothing, just connecting to the fire
    • closing your eyes and listening to the chimes outside as they play a beautiful song with the assistance from the wind.
    • Soaking in the tub and no sounds, thoughts, just submerging and letting the weight of the world go.
    • Watching birds as they to connect with nature or bathe in the birth bath.
    • Watching as the branches of trees move freely and do their own dance.
    • Walk around your yard, connect to and watering all the beautiful flowers and noticing all of their lovely flowery faces looking up to the sun.
    • Looking at the interesting shapes and sizes of the clouds like a slow motion picture and imagine being up there and and being carried away even oh so briefly.
    • Quietly listening to the clock ticking, humming of an appliance or evenconnecting to  your own heart beat when you put one or both hands on your heart.
    • Listening to beautiful music that moves you deeply
    • When having a shower, visualize all the stress letting go and going down the drain.
    • Breathing—— Inhale to the count of 1 and exhale three times.  This method relaxes, grounded and gives you that peaceful, calm feeling that meditation gives you. You can do it waiting in line, waiting for light to turn, waiting rooms, lunch breaks, bathroom breaks.

These are just a few ways to either start to or confirm what meditating looks like when you are doing it in a easy relaxed manner.  As Marc Allen say’s being Type Z personality even if for 5 – 10 min per day.  What does meditating look like for you?

    EVERYDAY MEDITATION QUOTES

DON’T LET THE BEHAVIOR OF OTHERS DESTROY YOUR INNER PEACE.”  – Dalai Lama –

When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.

MEDITATION IS THE ART OF DOING NOTHING.  – NAVAL RAVIKANT

Sleep is the best meditation.  – Dalai Lama –

ALL OF MAN’S DIFFICULTIES ARE CAUSED BY HIS INABILITY TO SIT, QUIETLY IN A ROOM BY HIMSELF.
